It’s not just the runway, wild west NIL in college football ruining the game along with many other problems, like officiating, it’s an epidemic in most sports that once again infested this time the NFL.
The comment below about having to move the game along is laughable BS. There are numerous examples of officials taking way more time to make a decision. Like three days and multiple looks. This was an elimination playoff game, not that we cared who won or lost. We didn’t.
It’s tough when the fix is fixed. Point shaving in college basketball, hardly new, and the now well-covered up attempt on the NBA scandal to go away quietly, big money is an explosion of part and parcel of our entire culture. See, for example, Congress. Also the spread on the game.
The higher up Lord of Lords want you, the rabble, to believe this BS, just random noises that occur once in a while.
We recall a few years back reading an article a couple NFL referees stated in a major game even if the rule was clearly on the books in the last two minutes of the game they weren‘t going to call it if it would impact the outcome, especially games that meant something like a Super Bowl.
That alone tells you the game isn’t legitimate. Most likely they want to exit the stadium post-game with all their epidermis still intact.
See European soccer matches.
“The NFL is standing by the call, though.
“Sunday morning, head of officiating Walt Anderson appeared on NFL Network. He confirmed that the call was correct and the replay review process went smoothly. You have to move the game along, he said.
“The ball, as Anderson explained it, immediately came loose when Cooks hit the ground and ended up in the control of McMillian,” Pro Football Talk wrote.
“Anderson said that both the replay assistant in the stadium ‘and New York’ reviewed the ruling on the field of an interception.” Anderson topped his comment off about all the money the NFL has invested to get things correct.
Funny how often that simple five-letter word keeps popping up in major sports. So stay in your lane, enjoy your overpriced tickets, parking fees, team paraphernalia and concession goodies, trust the experts and shut up.
And for the homebodies who watch streaming fees. Instead of the game watch those fees soar. It doesn’t matter if it was a legitimate catch or otherwise.
If it wasn’t a catch, it wasn‘t an interception. Just more random noise.
Just to make sure.
